Comments: Kestner, circa 1915, the 221 googly model was inspired by O'Neill's composition-bodied Kewpie, which Kestner also made, but for which they were obliged to pay royalties. By designing their own Kewpie-like googly these royalties could be avoided. The 221 googly was very successful and was made in several sizes, this being the largest.
