18" (46 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta head portraying gentleman with sculpted grey cap with upturned all-around brim, button accents, enamel eyes in well-defined sockets, strong nose, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, painted dark blue stockings, black shoes with red bows, early grey silk costume with gold lining and brass buttons, muslin shirt. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Neapolitan, early 1700s. Value Points: rare model highlighted by unique cap, and exceptional detail of sculpting.
