Description
15" (38 cm.) h. doll. 17" with wings. Polychromed terra cotta head inclined to the side and gazing upward, sculpted brown curly tousled hair, enamel eyes, closed mouth with tiny painted teeth, tow-wrapped armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs to above the knees, bare feet, attached wooden wings having carved detail of feathering. Condition: generally excellent, some light paint rubs. Comments: Neapolitan, attributed to Nicola Ingaldo, mid/late 1700s.
