Description
18" (46 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta shoulderhead with modeled bosom, elongated face with very full chin and throat, sculpted dark brown hair waved in front of her modeled ears and pulled into a light brunette-shaded coiled chignon at the back of head, red sculpted head band, deeply-set large eye socket, enamel eyes, strong nose, mouth modeled closed with two painted teeth, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, painted brown stockings and black clogs, costume includes silver beaded necklace with coral bead. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Neapolitan, mid-1700s. Value Points: rarity factors include unusual hair design and dramatic large eyes.
