Description
24" (61 cm.) l. coach. 10"h. nobleman. A wooden coach with painted red stenciled finish and gold edging, green painted interior, rests upon a wooden frame with leather straps and is being pulled by two carved wooden horses with painted details, thread manes, and elaborate leather harnesses. Seated in the coach are two figures including nobleman with carved wooden socket head, carved beard, painted features, wooden hands; and wax head driver with painted features, enamel eyes, wooden hands. Condition: very good, some slight wear. Comments: Continental, the coach door is hand lettered "1888". Value Points: intriguing and well-preserved, each figure is wearing its original elaborate costume, the nobleman with embellishing gold braid and faux-jewels.
