13" (33 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta shoulderhead depicting woman, sculpted brown hair in chignon at back of head and with red head band, enamel inset eyes, pierced ears, closed mouth, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, painted shoes and socks, wearing original silk folklore costume. Condition: generally excellent, paint skip on forehead. Comments: Neapolitan, mid-1700s. Value Points: well-detailed costume of ribbon trimmed silk costume with apron and vest.
