Paper mache socket head, painted complexion and facial features, outlined blue eyes, strong nose, closed mouth, single stroke brows, tinted beard stubble, white mohair wig, hollow carton torso which separates at the waist for its original presentation as candy container, jointed paper mache arms and legs. Condition: very good, costume is dusty. Comments: French, late 1800s. Value Points: imaginative luxury candy container, the general is wearing well-detailed original flannel uniform with epaulets and trim, tall black boots.
