Polychromed terra cotta shoulderhead depicting elderly woman, sculpted greying hair in loosely captured bun at nape of neck, enamel inset eyes, fully-sculpted ears, gaunt cheek bones, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, sandaled feet with well-defined toes, wearing original silk folklore costume. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Neapolitan, mid-1700s. Value Points: especially fine state of preservation with very fine sculpting of facial features, and original painted finish.
