Description
12" (30 cm.) Reclining on her side on a rosewood platform is a carved bone figure of adult woman with defined sculpting of hair and facial features, carved necklace and slippers. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Chinese, 1800s, the figure is known as a Doctor's Doll which, according to legend, were used by Chinese women of their time to indicate ailments to their physician. Value Points: fine sculpting enhanced by tinted details of hair, face, and jewelry.
