Description
16" (41 cm.) h. 16" head circ. Wood gosho-ningyo in standing pose with arms arranged for holding object, very plump face and limbs, head turned to side, gofun finish, painted facial features, defined eye socks, brows, closed mouth with thin line lips, sexed figure, original silk fiber hair, wearing original silk crepe bib with thread embroidery. Condition: very good, original finish throughout with some craquelure on legs. Comments: Japanese, Edo period. Value Points: grand size of the popular gosho-ningyo is very rare to find.
