Description
19" (48 cm.) Carved wooden bodies, blue painted eyes, long blonde hair. The tallest Alice has an elongated neck, jointed arms, and slightly jointed legs, wearing a blue dress with white trim at the hem and puffed sleeves, white pinafore with pink trim, white headband, painted white stockings, painted black shoes. The middle Alice has jointed arms and legs, wearing a light blue dress with white ribbon at the hem, white pinafore with pink trim, white headband, painted white stockings, painted black shoes. The tiny Alice has jointed arms, frozen legs, wearing a blue dress with puffed sleeves, white pinafore with pink details, black painted shoes, attached to a black wooden base. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: "Helen Bullard, 1964" (legs - tallest Alice) and "Helen Bullard, 1965" (legs - middle Alice). Comments: Helen Bullard, c.1964-5, founding member of NIADA, based on the titular character from Lewis Carroll's children's tales, set of three Alice's in various sizes.
