Description
5" (13 cm.) Sculpted heads, limbs, and bodies, painted facial features. Woman has blue painted eyes, white curly hair pulled back, wearing a pink skirt, matching pink jacket with ruffle trim down the front and at the ends of the sleeves, pink hat with ribbon and rose details, painted black ankle boots, carrying a small teacup and matching saucer, sitting on a woven chair. Man has a black suit jacket, gray vest, white collared shirt, red spotted neck ties, gray and black striped pants, gold watch chain, monocle, white and black painted shoes, carrying a small pipe, a wooden cane with golden duck-shaped finial, and a small "New York Times," sitting on a woven chair. Along with a black tophat on a small wooden hat stand. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: "L?? W??, 1997" (bottom of woman's chair) and "P. Taylor" (bottom of man's chair). Comments: c.20thc., unclear whether the marks on the chairs are for the dolls or just the chairs. Value Points: fine costumes, detailed facial scultping and painted features, includes a vareity of accessories and furniture.
