13" (33 cm.) Bisque socket head with angular-shaped slender face and elongated throat, blue glass sleep eyes, painted lashes, mohair lashes, one-stroke brows, accented nostrils, slightly-rounded nose tip, closed mouth with accented lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig, composition and wooden fully-jointed lady body with slender torso, elongated arms and legs, feet posed for high heels. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 1468 S&H 2. Comments: from the series of flapper-bodied dolls created by Simon and Halbig for Dressel (see lot 182 for another example), circa 1915; the dolls were offered in high-fashion flapper garb or as 18th century style ladies which was a decorative trend at the time. Value Points: the rare doll with beautiful expression and body has original body and is wearing a superb antique silk costume of the 18th century style.
