Description
3 1/2" (9 cm.) Presented seated in a handmade twill slipper with beaded and embroidered edging is a carved wooden head lady with painted black hair and facial features, along with her seven little wooden children. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Grodnertal, early 1800s. Value Points: in original presentation, the lady is wearing beaded woolen jacket and bonnet, and the shoe is decorated with folded woolen felt at the toes suggesting possible original presentation as pen wiper.
