42" (107 cm.) Bisque socket head, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, thick dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with shaded and outlined lips, pierced applied ears, white periwig in 18th century style, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent, original body and body finish. Marks: Depose Jumeau 20 (incised). Comments: Emile Jumeau, 1886, the rare incised Depose mark was made for only one or two years. Value Points: wearing fine ivory silk Marquis costume with rich trimmings, the doll likely was presented as an Exhibition model at the 1889 International Exposition by the Jumeau firm, and is extremely rare to find, with early box.
