10" (25 cm.) Porcelain shoulderhead with slender oval face, elongated throat, slight rose tinted complexion, black sculpted hair with shoulder length finger curls, painted blue eyes, red upper eyeliner, single stroke brows, wooden torso with defined waist and hips, dowel-jointed wooden upper arms and legs, porcelain lower arms and legs with dowel jointing, painted red shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1840. Value Points: beautifully-preserved doll with rare original body. The doll is shown in the book The Rose Unfolds by Rosalie Whyel and Susan Hedrick, pages 52-53, along with her trousseau of later-made period-style costumes which are included with this doll.
