Description
20" (51 cm.) Carton moule shoulderhead with perfectly oval-shaped face, strong throat, half-moon shaped large blue eyes, painted lashes, single stroke brows with feathering detail, aquiline nose, closed mouth with primly set lips, original brunette hand-stitched wig with arranged beading, flowers and dangling pearl earrings, very firmly-shaped slender elongated kid body, stitched and separated fingers, jointing at shoulders and knees. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: French, circa 1810. Value Points: rarely found doll, especially in this well-preserved all-original condition, wearing high waisted silk dress with flocked tulle and floral trim, undergarments, silk shoes, and owning several additional costumes with matching bonnets. The doll was featured in an article in Doll News describing dolls in the Remember the Ladies special exhibition.
