Description
16" (41 cm.) Solid domed bisque socket head, high domed forehead and painted blonde brushstroked hair, deeply-defined eye sockets with black upper eyeliner, pale blue painted eyes with dark blue iris rims, short feathered brows, rounded nose with accent nostril dots, closed mouth with downcast edges of center lip line creating a pouting like expression, composition and wooden ball-jointed toddler body with side-hip jointing, nicely costumed. Condition: generally excellent, original body and body finish. Comments: attributed to Franz Schmidt, circa 1910, from his very rare series of 1200 painted eye art characters (this example unmarked). Value Points: virtually never found, the doll has exemplary modeling around the lower eyes and mouth, finest bisque and artistic painting.
