Description
28" (71 cm.) All-wooden doll with one-piece carved wooden domed head and torso, heart-shaped face with well-defined chin and jawline, sculpted ears, strong nose, defined eye sockets, painted blue eyes, dark upper eyeliner, closed mouth, blushed cheeks, black painted pate, defined throat hollow and sculpted low-cut neckline designed for high-waisted fashion dresses, slender elongated torso, dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, well-defined fingers, slender legs with painted stockings and black-edged yellow shoes. Condition: structurally excellent, original painted details with some rubs on face and pate. Comments: Germany, circa 1800. Value Points: notable distinctive shaping of face and torso, regal presence, defined bodice, and presented in original wooden box base.
