Description
5 1/2" (14 cm.) Each is all-bisque with swivel head and loop-jointed bisque arms and legs, and having textured finish to suggest fur, including white cat with blue glass sleep eyes, painted whiskers, blue painted slippers and white pipe cleaner tail; and brown dog with brown glass sleep eyes, green slippers, painted whiskers, and green pipe cleaner tail. Condition: generally excellent, dog has hidden chip on one leg stringing loop. Marks: Tag Trademark Copr. by Georgene Averill 891 Germany (cat). Rag Trademark Copr. by Georgene Averill 890 Germany (dog). Comments: designed by Georgene Averill for George Borgfeldt, circa 1920, inspired by the book, Adventures of Rag and Tag, by Uncle David Cory, the pair were offered in various color combinations of fur and boots. Value Points: very rare to find, Rag is presented in his original labeled box.
