13" (33 cm.) Bisque head with flanged neck portrays a white spotted pup with fur-textured bisque finish, grey eye shadow, black spotting at top of head and front of ears, black nose with accent dots, open mouth with beaming smile, rose blushing above the lips, freckles, four teeth with unique spacing, tongue, velvet-covered stuffed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Allie Dog Copr. by Georgene Averill Germany. Comments: designed by Georgene Averill, the American doll artist whose other works include Bonnie Babe, produced by Germany under commission from George Borgfeldt, circa 1925. Value Points: extremely rare character doll by known American artist with outstanding detail of sculpting and painting, original body.
