18" (46 cm.) Poured wax shoulderhead with honey toned complexion, large blue glass paperweight inset eyes, tinted eyeliner and brows, lightly tinted closed mouth, inserted blonde hair tendrils, softly-stuffed cloth body with stitch-jointing, poured wax arms to above the elbows and lower legs with bare feet. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: English, possibly Montanari, circa 1880. Value Points: the wide-eyed child is wearing superb antique original costume of embroidered and lace edged cotton gown, undergarments, and white cream cashmere cape.
