Description
18" (46 cm.) Poured wax shoulderhead turned slightly to the side, blue glass inset eyes, tinted details of brows and eyeliner, accented nostrils, closed mouth, blonde mohair inserted tendrils as wig, softly-stuffed muslin body, wax lower arms and legs. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: English, attributed to Pierotti, museum records suggest the doll was presented at the "Queen Diamond Jubilee Reception and Ball, 5th July 1897". Value Points: the doll is wearing original (frail) ivory silk dress with lavish lace overlays and burgundy silk sash, undergarments, leather shoes, bonnet included.
