Description
17" (43 cm.) Bisque shoulderhead with very rounded face, pale complexion, brilliant cobalt blue glass eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with outlined lips, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, muslin stitch-jointed body, leather arms. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: French, circa 1860, attributed to Blampoix. Value Points: beautifully-preserved doll wearing original layered nun's habit and wraps along with rosary beads. The doll is shown in the book The Rose Unfolds by Rosalie Whyel and Susan Hedrick, page 91.
