13" (33 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, blue glass enamel inset eyes with spiral threading and darker iris rims, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with accent line between the lips, ears pierced into head, blonde lambswool wig over cork pate, all-wooden poupee body with dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees and ankles, ball-swivel waist, scalloped edge kid collarette. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: D. Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, the distinctive body was deposed by his firm in 1867, and this was the premiere head model used on that body. Value Points: wonderfully-preserved, the poupee is presented in its original box with illustration on the lid depicting various Bru poupees, and with blue ribbon award.
