Description
20" (51 cm.) Bisque socket head with unusual extended socket length, golden amber complexion with rose shading of eyeliner and cheeks, small brown glass inset eyes that are slightly angled, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, fringed angled brows, accented dots at eye corners and costumes, slightly parted lips with two rows of tiny teeth, black mohair wig under coiffe; head is attached to (not original) paper mache shoulderplate which is attached to plump Bru-like kid gusset-jointed body, amber tinted bisque hands. Condition: bisque head and hands are excellent, body is not original and is designed to accommodate to bisque neck socket. Comments: head attributed to Jules Steiner, circa 1875. Value Points: very rare bisque head with flawless complexion, wearing fine antique costume including elaborate coiffe.
