Description
26" (66 cm.) Poured wax shoulderhead with honey-toned complexion, blue glass eyes with wire mechanism for opening and closing, incised upper eyeliner, tinted brows, closed mouth, inserted brunette hair in delicate tendrils, softly-stuffed cloth body, poured wax lower limbs, bare feet, tan boy's suit with embroidered detail, knickers, straw hat, leather shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Lucy Peck stamp on torso. Comments: English, Lucy Peck, circa 1880, whose business noted that she was a maker of fine wax dolls with "real hair insertion". Value Points: very appealing expression on the well-preserved doll with maker's mark.
