Black-complexioned bisque swivel head on black bisque shoulderplate, oval shaped face, black glass inset eyes, black glazed brows, open mouth with row of tiny porcelain teeth, pierced ears, elaborately-coiffed black astrakhan wig in tiny braids, tinted dark kid poupee body with gusset-jointing at hips, knees and elbows. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: French, attributed to Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1875, depicting African woman from Chad, distinguished by singular details of costume such as strings of cork designed to be worn beneath her tunic, and with lavish original gold beaded jewelry. Value Points: very rare model with very fine distinctive modeling, flawless complexion and original unique wig.
