Description
15" (38 cm.) Wax-over-paper mache shoulderhead, oval shaped face, black glass inset eyes, painted lashes and brows, closed mouth, center slit at crown for insertion of brunette hair wig, all-wooden body with jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, painted black ankle boots. Condition: generally excellent, little nose rub. Comments: for the English market, circa 1850. Value Points: wearing red and black checkered gown and red woolen cape, the peddler lady is carrying a basket of wares and mementos includes packets of old miniature handwritten letters.
