Description
23" (58 cm.) Porcelain shoulderhead with pink tinted complexion, heart-shaped face, sculpted and painted brown hair in centerpart with hair drawn softly over her ears and captured at the back in extended chignon, painted blue eyes in defined eye sockets, one-stroke brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with suggestion of gentle smile, old firmly-stuffed twill body, porcelain lower arms, lovely antique costume. Condition: professional restoration to shoulderplate (does not extend into head itself which is perfect). Marks: (three blue lines inside shoulderplate). Comments: Royal Copenhagen, circa 1850. Value Points: very rare to find model, with exquisitely shaded brown hair in unique coiffure. The doll is featured in the book The Rose Unfolds by Rosalie Whyel and Jill Gorman, pages 40-41.
