10" (25 cm.) The firmly-pressed cloth doll with needle-sculpted and painted angular features has white mohair periwig and is posed standing upon a wooden base, wearing original (frail) gentleman's costume and holding a wire-framed magnifying glass in his right hand. Condition: original albeit with frailty to costume. Comments: early 1800s, maker unknown. Value Points: very fine detail of artistry and portrayal.
