Description
19" (48 cm.) Bisque socket head, brown glass sleep eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line between the slightly downcast lips, blonde mohair wig over plaster pate, composition and wooden body with attached ball jointing, straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent, original body and body finish. Marks: 2 1/2. Comments: Kestner, circa 1885. Value Points: lovely closed mouth doll with burgundy wool antique costume and bonnet, owns a domed trunk with original paper label on side of lid Oskar Jigher, which is filled lavishly with five additional dresses, coat, jackets, undergarments, parasol and additional wear.
