31" (79 cm.) Bisque socket head, blue glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brushstroked brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with outlined very full lips, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig, German composition and wooden early body, nicely costumed in blue velvet coat dress, matching bonnet, muff, leather shoes, undergarments. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: SH 17 949. Comments: Simon and Halbig, circa 1885. Value Points: finest quality of bisque and modeling on the early closed mouth doll, original body and body finish.
