22" (56 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, large blue glass paperweight inset eyes with spiral threading, dark eyeliner, rose blushed eye shadow, painted lashes, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accent line between the lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig, French kid poupee body with gusset-jointing at elbows, hips and knees. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 8 (head) Magasin Des Enfants Jouete et Jeux Passage de L'Opera (original shop paper label on torso). Comments: Pierre-Francois Jumeau, circa 1877, the doll was presented at the prestige Parisian doll shop of Magasin des Enfants. Value Points: pristine condition, immaculate sturdy body, beautiful bisque and eyes, original shop label, and owning a fine early dress of white pique with scalloped embroidered edging and demi-train.
