Description
29" (74 cm.) Paper mache shoulderhead with perfectly oval face and strong throat, black sculpted hair in centerpart, waved softly away from face and behind her ears, falling into formed curls just below her ears, and a tightly-coiled braided chignon at the back, sculpted ears, highly-defined outlined eye sockets with blue painted eyes, lightly-feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with center accent line, blushed cheeks, slender kid body, wooden lower arms and legs, with painted red shoes, antique costume and undergarments. Condition: generally excellent, light craquelure overall, original finish and painting. Comments: Germany, circa 1840. Value Points: grand size, rare coiffure, and strong demeanor combine to create a remarkable doll.
