Description
41" (104 cm.) l. x 30"h. The wooden circus ring with floor supports a canvas circus tent with red and white striped roof labeled Humpty Dumpty Circus and with lithographed background depicting the excited crowds of people gathered for the circus. Performing are the Ringmaster, the Bareback Rider Lady, and two clowns, each in their original costumes; animals in the ring include donkey, elephant, dappled horse with platform, poodle, giraffe and single hump camel (all with painted eyes), and also included are two ladders, two chairs, three barrels or stools and a Schoenhut banner. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: American, Schoenhut, circa 1920. Value Points: rare to find the lithographed circus tent; animals and performers are in fine original condition. Included is original Schoenhut box for circus animals.
