Description
22" (56 cm.) Bisque socket head with rich sienna complexion enhanced by subtle blushing accents, brown painted eyes, black eyeliner, black brushstroked curvy brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with firmly set accented lips, black human hair wig, sienna-complexioned composition and wooden ball-jointed body, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent, few wig pulls. Marks: 1303 S&H Germany 3. Comments: Simon and Halbig, circa 1910, the rare 1303 model was made in several variations including both sienna and white complexions, and painted or glass eyes, this example depicting Native American. Value Points: especially fine detail of sculpting with deeply furrowed brows and fret lines around the mouth, choice bisque, complexion and painting of features, original body and body finish, original costume.
