Description
18" (46 cm.) Bisque socket head, painted brown eyes with pronounced black pupils enhanced by decorative glaze, red and black upper eyeliner, tiny fringed lashes, short feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with row of beaded teeth, tongue tip, outlined lips, brunette mohair braided wig, plaster pate, composition and wooden ball-jointed body, nicely costumed. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 180 (head) Germany (body). Comments: Kestner, circa 1910. Value Points: very choice bisque and painting of features on the rare painted eye character. The doll is shown in the book The Rose Unfolds by Rosalie Whyel and Susan Hedrick, page 183.
