Description
25" (64 cm.) x 29". Oil on canvas painting with gilted and carved wooden frame depicts a young girl seated on floor, holding doll which she seems to be instructing; the painting includes various furnishings including cradle, stove, cupboards and chair. The girl's facial features are rendered in highly characterized fashion. A brass label on frame indicate "Yelva Vermehren 1878-1980" in reference to the Scandinavian artist whose works mostly concentrated on floral scenes. Excellent condition.
