Description
12" (30 cm.) h. container. 7"w. cards. A cylindrical tin container labeled "Plaisir du Louvre" has fitted cap with lithographed loterie board and spinning arrow. The underside of the lid is fitted with a cardboard form upon which are attached miniature toys and dolls, and within the container are seven additional cards with their original tied on toy treasures, including dolls, tin toys, paper mache animals and figures, soft metal figural, wooden dolls, and more. The contained lid is marked "Propriete Exclusive Modele depose"; the deluxe presentation of the popular children's lottery toy appears to have been an exclusive offering by the Paris department store Au Louvre. There are some scratches on container, but overall excellent, cards intact and complete. French, circa 1890, a very rare and treasured French toy presentation.
