Description
17" (43 cm.) Bisque socket head with highly characterized facial features of smiling child, brown glass inset eyes, painted curly lashes, incised eyeliner, impressed dimples at eye corners, brushstroked and multi-feathered brows, accented nostrils, slightly parted lips with row of four teeth barely visible, pierced ears, impressed cheek and chin dimples, brunette mohair wig, composition and wooden ball-jointed body, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 969 S 8 H dep. Comments: Simon and Halbig, circa 1890. Value Points: very rare model with most expressive and appealing features, lovely bisque.
