Description
14" (36 cm.) Bisque face attached to paper mache back of head which protrudes from paper mache torso with pull-string mama crier, the bisque face with flat-cut neck socket, brown glass sleep eyes, painted lashes and brows, open mouth, four tiny teeth, composition and wooden fully-jointed arms and legs. Condition: hairline on crying face. Marks: 489. Comments: Carl Bergner, who registered the doll in 1905 as DRP 164 535, with original detachable blonde mohair which is designed to cover the paper mache back of head; the doll was designed to be able to utilize different faces, or for easy replacement of the original face. Value Points: very rare doll including wig with attached earrings and chemise.
