Polychromed terra cotta head posed as though looking to the side with a startled expression on face, wide open enamel eyes, brown sculpted hair with modeled windblown hair, painted facial features, closed mouth modeled as though open, tiny painted teeth and tongue tip, tow-wrapped body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, painted stockings and brown shoes with red buckles, very expressive fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Neapolitan, mid-1700s. Value Points: rare model with unusually large eyes, expressive features of face, hair and hands, original costume.
