Polychromed terra cotta head posed downward with concerned expression, black deeply-sculpted hair, inset enamel eyes, painted facial features, closed mouth modeled as though open, tiny painted teeth and tongue tip, incised wrinkles on forehead, tow-wrapped body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, painted stockings and black shoes with red buckles, very expressive fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Neapolitan, mid-1700s. Value Points: unusual black hair, rosy complexion, original (frail) costume.
