9 1/2" (24 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque torso, plumply-modeled cheeks, blue glass eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, rose blushed eye shadow, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with defined space between the outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig, peg-jointing at shoulders and hips, painted five-lace yellow ankle boots with little black bows, white stockings, lovely costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 102. Comments: Germany, circa 1880, attributed to Kestner, the model is known as "French wrestler" in reference to its very muscular body detail. Value Points: especially fine modeling of facial features lend a very expressive appearance, original well-modeled rare body, original wig.
