German paper mache shoulderhead doll with solid dome, black painted pate under original brunette hand-tied human hair wig with arranged ringlet curls in original coiffure, painted complexion and facial features, shaded blue eyes with black upper eyeliner, single stroke brows, aquiline nose, closed mouth with center accent line, original slender kid body with wooden lower limbs, paper bands at junction of kid and wood, wearing antique ivory silk gown, undergarments, black silk slippers, stockings, tulle over woven bonnet. Condition: generally excellent, original finish. Comments: Germany, circa 1850. Value Points: rare early paper mache with unusual coiffure over painted pate, original finish and sturdy original body.
