Description
11" (28 cm.) Porcelain shoulderhead black painted short hair with feathering around the face, painted blue eyes, closed mouth, pink kid poupee body for the French market. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Aux Enfants Sages Mon, Monnier 13/15 Passage Jouffroy (original label on inside box lid). Comments: the poupee was presented in the luxury Parisian toy store, Aux Enfants Sage, which was owned by Monnier from 1850 until 1859. Value Points: outstanding presentation of the early doll, in its original labeled box, along with four fabulous original gowns, undergarments, two bonnets, apron.
