15" (38 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, spiral threaded blue glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, arched feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with lips curved into a gentle enigmatic smile, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, kid poupee torso and legs with square cut collarette, gusset-jointing at hips and knees, wooden arms with dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows and wrists. Condition: generally excellent, one thumb chipped off. Marks: D (head and shoulderplate). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, from his deposed model of 1872, the doll with very distinctive face expression and original Bru body. Value Points: beautiful lady with finest bisque and painting, original wig, wooden-arm body, wearing fine antique wedding gown with coronet and bouquet, undergarments including hoop, stockings, shoes.
