Description
12" (30 cm.) Delicately tinted porcelain swivel head with rounded facial shape and flat-cut neck socket attached to matching shoulderplate with deposed metal rod system that allows realistic side-to-side head swivel only (not 360 degrees), painted cobalt blue eyes with black outline and all-around painted lashes, feathered brows, small nose with accented nostrils, closed mouth with pertly shaped lips, unpierced ears, blonde caracul wig, softly-stuffed kid body with gusset-jointing at hips and knees, tinted porcelain arms to above the elbows. Condition: generally excellent, one finger tip chipped on right hand. Marks: Mme Rohmer Brevete SGDG Paris (torso stamp). Comments: Leontine Rohmer, circa 1858, with rare deposed swivel head system of 1858. Value Points: precious petite poupee with beautiful complexion, rare swivel head, original signed body, and wearing wonderful original costume comprising gown, undergarments, bonnet, stockings, early shoes, and carrying woven basket and miniature book "Doll's Party".
