Description
12" (30 cm.) Pale bisque swivel head with rounded facial shape and flat-cut neck socket attached to matching shoulderplate with deposed metal rod system that allows realistic side-to-side head swivel only (not 360 degrees), brilliant large cobalt blue glass inset eyes with dark eyeliner, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with accent line between the pertly shaped lips, unpierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, softly-stuffed kid body with gusset-jointing at hips and knees, bisque arms to above the elbows. Condition: generally excellent, one finger tip chipped on right hand. Marks: Mme Rohmer Brevete SGDG Paris. Comments: Leontine Rohmer, circa 1860, with rare deposed neck swivel. Value Points: superlative quality of bisque enhanced by brilliant eyes, original body, rare swivel neck system, and wearing very fine costume of red silk with black lace and velvet trim, undergarments, blouse, leather shoes, and lace snood with red silk ruffled edging.
